Allergy SOS

Anyone else going crazy with their allergies right now? Mine aren't pretty. My eyes are watery, my throat is itchy and my nose is leaky. The worst part? People at work asking "ARE YOU OKAY? You look terrible!". Uhhh....yeah. Love those comments. After hearing a comment like that, I run to the bathroom and put blush on by the pound in order to give me some clownish rosy cheeks. Does it help? No, they probably just think I'm crazy and don't know how to apply blush.

At least I don't look like this when I sneeze! Well, I hope I don't. I'll have to run to the bathroom and sneeze in front of the mirror just in case. Or, make Ben take pictures of me sneezing. Yes. This is something I would actually do - - I'm very cool.

I hope you aren't suffering from allergies and are looking gorgeous today. xoxo

Two Shapely Decanters

We received a beautiful decanter for our wedding and it's so pretty, but I never remember to use it! It's pretty big, so we have it packed away on an obscure shelf, which is why I never think about it. Thanks to this post, I'm going to climb up on my kitchen counter and get it down.

So, I posted two very similar ones here with very different price tags. I actually like the cheaper version better. I love the shape and the beautiful top. Plus, it's almost $100 cheaper. No contest!

Country Bottle Decanter. William Yeoward. $123.
Claro Decanter. Pottery Barn. $29.
You can get this monogrammed too!

Hiding My Mail

Anyone else pick up their mail and then drop it on their kitchen table {or any table}? Perhaps it sits there until the weekend when you finally get around to going through it - that NEVER happens to me, but I've heard this happens to some people :)

I saw this cute vintage mail bin on Etsy and thought it would be a nice way to wrangle my mail and keep it in one place until I get a chance to go through it. Plus, the cuteness factor is just an added bonus!

What's your mail reading style?

The World's Best Chocolate

Have you ever heard of Sarris Candies? If not, familiarize yourself. You can thank me later {although, I can't be held responsible for your soon-to-be weight gain}. Growing up in Pittsburgh, all kids sold Sarris Candies for school fundraisers. It's also a heavenly store that every child begged their parents to take them to {my Dad was a much easier sucker on this front}. Yep. That was bad grammar, and I'm blaming it on the chocolate coma I've been in since my family left.

This weekend, my Mom brought us a bunch of Sarris chocolate and it's almost all gone. Oh, and Mom, those "mysterious" bites in the chocolate - - yeah, umm..CAUGHT. Also, you now owe me new pair of pants since mine will no longer zip up. What? Yeah, self control would have been great, but you passed along your lack of chocolate self control to me. So, I'll just finish up this last little piece....

What's your favorite chocolate?

Easter Mini Pretzel Pail
CHOCOLATE COVERED Popcorn.
Yep. I'm drooling too.
Chocolate Crocs!! Hahahaha

National Walk for Epilepsy

Our families were in town this weekend for the National Walk for Epilepsy. We had a team of 20, which was fantastic. Even better? We raised $3,500!! Three members of my family have Epilepsy, so having everyone here to support them made me so proud and happy. Ben's parents drove from Richmond, his sister and his brother-in-law drove from Philadelphia and my parents drove in from Pittsburgh--amazing. So, a big THANK YOU to all my team members and all the others that were a part of this walk. xoxo

Our Team! Thanks for sending this Don!

A beautiful picture of my Mom and Step-Dad Bill.
Too bad about the creeper in the background.
Oh, by the way, that creeper is my husband. I'm so proud.

Tiered Plant Stands

We live in a condo and are quickly running out of sunlight space for our plants. I have been looking for some plant stands that could hold multiple plants and came across this beauty at Pottery Barn. I'm not sure if this would work inside for us, but I love it! The price? Not so much.  Enter the CBK version...

Iron Scroll 3-Tier Plant Stand. Pottery Barn. $499.
White 3-Tier Plant Stand. CBK. $156.78. Was $205.79!

Kalaallit Nunaat

Greenland is known as The Land of People. Have you been? After finding these beautiful pictures, I'm adding it to my "I wanna visit...." list.

Here are some interesting facts:
  • The official languages are Greenlandic and Danish, but English is also widely understood.
  • 85% of Greenland is covered in ice--the majority of the population live in the western areas, which are ice-free and situated along the coast.
  • It was discovered by the Vikings in the 10th century.
  • July is the only month when the temperature goes above the freezing point {umm...maybe I will be removing it from my travel list}.

Green Rain Boots

With the downpour in DC yesterday, it reminded me once again that I need a pair of functional cute rain boots. I've had my eye on the Hunter boots, but the price tag {$125} is a bit much for me. Although, never say never, right?! In the meantime, check out the boots below. Pretty darn similar and $75 less!! Woohoo.
Original Rain Boots. Hunter. $125.

Garden Lily Pad Rain Boots. Ruche. $52.99.

Yellow Bamboo Lamps

Found these on Etsy and just had to share. LOVE THEM.

These vintage {circa the 50's or 60's} ceramic lamps are a gorgeous yellow with a painted white {wood} base and white ceramic bamboo accents.

I need to stop looking at Etsy. I want everything I see. That's mostly why I created this blog - to share my addiction with my followers in the hopes that they will buy these things before I do. Such a perfect money management plan!

*Adorable child in bottom photo is not included in purchase :)

Yellow Bamboo Ceramic Lamps. Belleocchio. $250.
